Flowering Ash

Tree 6-15 m high (may be shrub) with wide oval crown.Flowers remarkable. The bark is gray, smooth, old age rough. Leaves are odd-pinnate, 12 to 20 cm long, composed of 5 to 9 leaflets. The margin is serrate with shallow dents. The lower half of the middle vein is brown hairy on the underside. The flowers are arranged in the rich panicles, 7-15 cm long. The flowers are white. Flowering in April to May. The fruit are samaras, 2-2,5 cm long, narrow. Shoots: Shoots are rounded to squared, hairless or near buds slightly hairy. Leaf-scars are big, hemispherical, with numerous traces after leaves. Natural range: South and South-eastern Europe, Asia Minor; in our area introduced.

Buds

Buds are opposite, terminal bud is bigger, gray. Lateral buds are smaller, light brown, with dense glandulous hair.
