Shrub or small tree with numerous root suckers. It's 2-8 m tall. The bark is smooth in youth, later lengthwise scattered. Leaves are odd-pinnate, composed of 9 to 31 serrate leaflets. The petiole is densely hairy. The flowers are in erected thick panicles. The male flowers are yellowish green, female red. Flowering in June and July. The fruits are spherical, hairy drupes, which are arranged in dense, crimson brown infruscence. Shoots: Shoots are thick with dense velvet hairs, later hairless. The core is big, greenish-yellow.Secretes denser milk-like liquid. Natural range: Eastern part of the North America; in our area introduced.

Buds

Buds are barely protruding, small, conical, with dense rusty hairs. Terminal bud is not bigger than lateral buds. Leaf-scars almost entirely surrounding the bud.
