Creeper up to 10 m long, or shrub with spiky branches. Spikes are strong, curved. Leaves are composed – odd pinnate with 3 pairs of leaflets. Both petiole and leaves are glabrous. Flowers pink or white, slightly fragrance. Flowering in June and July. The fruits are rosehips, different shaped. Color of the fruit may be orange-red to red. Shoots: Shoots are green, often twisted. Older shoots are olive-brown or reddish. Natural range: Europe, Western and Central Asia, north-west Africa; in our area domestic.

Buds

Buds are small, ovoid, obtuse.
