Shrub or tree 3-5 m tall. Bark gray, smooth, at old age stripping.Lamina is simple, entire, widely elliptic, obtuse or acuminate. Diamond shaped on the base. The margin is irregularly double serrate, entire by the basis. The front is glabrous (hairy only in early age), the underside is densely covered with short hairs. Flowering in May. The fruit is pome, 1 cm. It's red, shiny with lenticels. Teardrop-shaped seeds are 5-6 mm long, reddish brown. Shoots: Shoots are round, in the youth hairy, the old hairless. They are shiny reddish-brown with white-grey lenticels. Lateral branches are often short. Natural range: Europe - Western, Central, South and South-east; in our area domestic.

Buds are green, ovoid, on the edge light brown and ciliate (white).
