Quercus cerris
Tree 20 - 30 m tall. Face of the leaf shiny dark green, hairy, other side yellow-green with hair. Petiole with small narrow stipules. The fruit are achenes - acorns. They are located often separately, rarely more from one spot. Achene is hairy, scales outstanding, pointing backward. Acorns are elongated, bristly; from½ hidden in the cup.
Shoots: Young shoots hairy, older hairless.
Natural range: Southern Europe to Lebanon; in our area domestic.
Buds
Buds are small, pointed, with acicular persistent stipules on the base. The scales are cinnamon brown, hairy.
Leaves
Leaves are simple. Lamina shape is very variable, longish ovate, pinnatilobate. The basis is rounded. The lobes are often lengthened to short tips. The face is roughly pilose, the underside is tomentose. At the petiole there are subuliform, 1-2 cm long stipules.
Fruits
