Pubescent Oak
Quercus pubescens
Tree tall 7 - 15 m (sometimes shrub) with broad crown. The bark is rough. Leaf blade very variable, widely obovate, lobed with undulating edge, other side densely hairy, the face at first hairy, later hairless. The fruit are achenes - acorns. They grow 1-4 together, almost sedentary or on stalk long up to 1 cm. Achene has thin wall, is hairy, scales folded, flat or slightly rounded. Acorns are ovoid.
Shoots: Shoots are hairy.
Natural range: Europe - South, West and Central; in our area domestic.

Buds are small with hairy scales.
Leaves
Leaves are simple. The lamina is very variable, widely obovate, pinnatilobate, warped. The margin is undulate, markedly pubescent. The leaf basis is rounded. Lobes usually are wide, twice lobed. The face is first densely tomentose, later glabrous. The underside is densely tomentose.
Fruits
