Shrub 1-3 m high, with many braches. The bark is irregular lengthwise stripped. Shoots are densely shortly hairy. Older hairless.The core is brown. Buds are small, hairy, on the top with white hair. The scales are free, gray-yellow. There are usually 3 lateral buds, one above another. Leaves are simple. Lamina is ovate or elliptic with entire margin, hairy on both sides in young age. The front side bald lately, the underside is grayish-green. The flowers are initially white, later yellowed to slightly reddish. Flowering in May and June. Shoots: Shoots are densely shortly hairy. Older hairless.The core is brown. Natural range: Europe (except the northernmost and southernmost area), Asia Minor, the Caucasus, the Western Siberia; in our area domestic.
